Second Conference on the Covenant of Mayors in Belarus was held in Ivye
The event was bring together representatives of Belarusian cities participating in the Covenant of Mayors.
The conference presents innovative approaches used by the signatory cities in the fields of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. Participants have the chance to exchange experiences and assess the progress achieved over the year.
The main issues that are considered during the event were:
* Status of the initiative The Mayor's Agreement on Climate and Energy in Belarus;
* Increase of energy efficiency in different sectors;
* Transformation of ambitious action plans for sustainable energy development and climate into projects: financial opportunities;
* Treatment facilities and waste management - Great potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions under the Mayors' Agreement.
The conference program includes not only presentations of experts, panel discussions, discussions, but also a visit to demonstration sites for energy and climate. Participants will also be able to get acquainted with the historical objects of the Ivye region.
The organizers of the event are IPO "Ecopartnerstvo", Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Department for Energy Efficiency of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus, Ivy District Executive Committee.
The conference is an event of the project "Support to the" Mayors' Agreement in Belarus "initiative, funded by the European Union under the EU4Energy initiative.
